Satu Mare stands in solidarity with the Ukrainian twin cities Uzhhorod and Beregovo
We do not want a new iron curtain to come down again, 32 years after the fall of communism!
The Mayor of Satu Mare, Gábor Kereskényi, expressed his solidarity on Thursday with the Mayors of the two twin cities, offering a helping hand in need and assuring them to provide support to Ukrainian friends.

"A war is taking place right next to us! Our friends in the twin cities of Uzhhorod and Beregovo are suffering because an absurd military conflict in which millions of people are terrified by armed aggression. We share a twinning relation, a partnership and now is the best time to show it! The talks with the two mayors marked me, I felt that they had on their shoulders the weight of the responsibility of the life of the inhabitants of the two cities. It is not easy to face suffering and terror!

We do not want a new iron curtain to come down again, 32 years after the fall of communism! May the sound of weapons cease in Ukraine and worldwide, let us live in peace and security again!” said Gábor Kereskényi.
